Terms of Use
Last updated: October 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and BookVitals Inc. ("we", "us") for the Bible Scroll app, listed on the App Store as Bible Chat Scroll, and this website. By using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
Bible Scroll lets you read the Bible one verse at a time, listen to verses read aloud, save favorites and notes, search, share verse cards and keep a daily streak. It is provided by BookVitals Inc. for personal devotional use. It is not professional, medical, psychological or pastoral advice.
2. Your account
- An account is created for you automatically and anonymously the first time you open the app.
- You can choose to Sign in with Apple so your favorites and notes survive a reinstall or move to a new device. Without it, deleting the app can lose your data.
- You are responsible for your device and for who can use the app on it.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Bible Scroll.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. See Delete your account.
3. Subscriptions
Some features need a subscription, bought through Apple with your Apple ID.
- Auto-renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the price shown when you bought it, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Cancelling. Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Apple handles all payments and refunds. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Restoring. On a new device, open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases.
Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these terms and Apple's agreement conflict, these terms apply to the extent the law allows. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
4. Your notes
The notes you write stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them, sync them to your devices and show them back to you. We do not publish your notes. A verse card you share goes wherever you send it.
5. Bible texts
Bible Scroll includes 45 translations. Many are licensed to us by their publishers and remain their property. You may read, share and quote them for personal, non-commercial use. Do not copy, extract or redistribute the texts beyond that.
6. Audio
Verses are read aloud by a synthetic, computer-generated voice. It may mispronounce words or names, and the read-aloud text may differ slightly from the printed text. The written translation is the authority.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app: no attempts to break or overload it, reverse engineer it, get around subscriptions or limits, scrape its content, or use it in a way that breaks the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
8. Changes to the app and these terms
We may add, change or remove features. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect. Using the app after that means you accept the new terms.
9. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content, including feed suggestions and audio, is accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, BookVitals Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring claims in your local courts.
